Regions and geography
The country has three main geographic regions, each characterized by its own unique climate and vegetation. The coast is world famous for its mangrove swamps, white beaches, rocky inlets, tall palm trees and coral reefs. Thanks to its natural exotic beauty it is one of the best locations for honeymoons or family holidays in Africa.
The interior region – reaching beyond the coast and rises gradually to the central Highlands in the south and extends through Ethiopia in the north. The northeastern region of the plateau comprises of a few low valleys and monotonous vegetation marked by sparse savannah, huge baobab trees, thorn trees, and scrub. The third main region is Western Kenya. The western region of the country is characterized as a gentle plateau running the length. This area is very hot and humid, with plenty of rainfall throughout the year.
